Health Planning & Assessment


Develop policies and plans that support the development and implementation of a comprehensive, client-centered, integrated, accountable and accessible healthcare system that meets the needs of a growing and changing population.

Major Operational Goals

  • Capacity building for the department through recruitment and appointment of qualified staff.

  • Align departmental activities with those identified within the National Health Strategy 2011-2016.

  • Development update of Qatar Healthcare Facility Master Plan ( QHFMP ).

  • Continue the development of facilities (Temporary & permanent) needed to implement the Single Male Workers’ health strategy and ensure the identification and contract agreement with appropriate operator(s).

  • Development of a 15 Year Health Workforce Development Plan, to include strategies for optimizing the skill mix within the health sector, development of new classes of health care workers, and team-based service delivery models.

  • Enhance communication and strategic partnerships with stakeholders to unify efforts towards main goals of healthcare workforce needs in Qatar.

  • Establish the National Health Workforce Development Committee.

  • Providing advice and guidance on healthcare facility planning issues.
