MOPH Organizes a "TDaP" Vaccination Campaign

MOPH in collaboration with the ministry of education and higher education and PHCC is going to hold for the seventh year in a row the annual routine Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis vaccination campaign for students in the tenth grade. The campaign will start on Sunday, February 19, 2017 and will continue until Thursday the 16th of March 2017.

The workshop will include several informative presentations on the latest practical and scientific vaccination information. There will also be presentations on the objectives of the campaign and its steps. It is important to note that this vaccine covering three communicable diseases provides at least ten years protection from the diseases mentioned. The dose that will be administered to the students is considered one of the routine adolescence vaccinations and is part of the routine vaccination schedule in the State of Qatar. Covering all governmental, independent and private schools in the State of Qatar. The three diseases have dangerous complications and may lead to permanent disability or even death.

MOPH will be conducting a workshop to launch the campaign on Thursday, February 16, 2017. 200 medical professionals from the ministry of public health, primary health care cooperation, semi government medical facilities and the private sector are expected to attend the workshop as well as nurses from both government and public schools.

The ministry of public health urges parents to have their children take the vaccine and encourages them to participate highlighting the important role the vaccine plays in enhancing their children's health and wellbeing and due to the effective protection, it provides them against these high-risk communicable diseases.
