As part of the 4th Qatar Patient Safety Week, the MOPH has organized a public campaign at City Center Mall and Qatar National Library. This campaign will be rolled-out in collaboration with the Al-Emadi Hospital, National Diabetes Strategy, Qatar Red Crescent Society and Qatar Music Academy.
All community members are invited to come meet and discuss with healthcare experts issues related to Patient Safety. You can also get your blood sugar checked free of charge. Throughout this campaign, the MOPH will focus on promoting shared-decision making in healthcare, protecting ourselves from infection and preventing diabetes measures or living safely with it. The key messages that will be used to cover these areas are as follows: Diabetes: Prevent it or Live Safely with It, Together, lets Break the Chain of Infection, Nothing About Me Without Me.
The public campaign taking place at City Center Mall will be on September 20 and 21, 2018 from 4:00pm-10:00pm and 2:00pm-10:00pm respectively. There will be health promotion activities, blood sugar checking with a lot of fun activities for the kids.
The Qatar National Library (QNL) will be hosting a public awareness day on September 22 at the Library’s Special Events Area. We will be using the same messages conveyed through role play, followed by an expert panel to answer questions from the audience. As a special treat for visitors, the event, which is open to the public, will conclude with a musical performance by Qatar Music Academy’s Marasi Ensemble.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) is celebrating its’ 4th Qatar Patient Safety Week, September 16-22, 2018. The event is organized under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hanan Al Kuwari Minister of Public Health. The theme for this year is “Patient Safety from Book to Bedside” to highlight the fact that we need to mobilize theory into actionable processes necessary for safer healthcare practices and better outcomes.
